At Cardio 1, we try to accommodate every patient that needs our care. However, if you are requiring emergency care, please call 911 immediately and make your way to the nearest emergency centre.
Emergency Care includes (but is not limited to):
- Severe Chest Pain
- Shortness of Breath
- Numbness, Weakness or Loss of Mobility
- Severe Physical Injury
Uninsured Services
There are some services that are not covered through Manitoba Health or private insurance. For information on whether a service is covered, please contact Cardio 1.
Confidentiality and Privacy
Everyone has the right to have all of their medical information kept private and confidential. Every staff member at Cardio 1 has been certified to handle personal health information and have signed contracts under the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) to protect your privacy.
You must provide written, witnessed authorization to have your medical information released to anyone without you being present, even if that person is your parent, spouse or counselor.
Cancellation and No Show Policy
We are trying to take care of each individual patient's needs during the patient's visit. However, in order to decrease waiting times and as a courtesy to your fellow patients, we maintain a strict No Show/Cancellation Policy for all our patients.
If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call Cardio 1 at least two business days before your appointment to reschedule in order to accommodate another patient. Cancellations must be done in person or over the telephone speaking directly to one of our staff.
A patient who does not arrive for their scheduled appointment without contacting our clinic at least two business days in advance is considered a “no-show”, barring medical emergencies.
Cardio 1 charges a "no-show" fee of $100.00 for a Consult/New patient appointment and a “no-show” fee of $60.00 for a follow up appointment. Patients who don't pay the “no-show” fee are unable to see a physician at Cardio 1 until they have paid their fee.
Abuse Policy
Our clinic has a zero tolerance policy in place regarding verbal abuse and displays of aggression directed towards staff, be it in person, via telephone conversation, email or regular mail. Individuals violating any of the above will be immediately denied service, will be asked to leave the clinic and will be subject to permanent cancellation of medical management services provided by Cardio 1.
